Corydoras Caudimaculatus

Scientific Name Corydoras caudimaculatus Rössel, 1961
Common Name(s) Tail Spot Cory
Type Locality Main stream of upper Rio Guaporé, Rondônia, Brazil.
Pronunciation Kory DOOR ass - caw dee mack ewe LATT uss
Etymology Cory = helmet, doras = skin. In this case it was incorrectly used to mean armour (cuirasse) instead of skin in allusion to the dual rows of plates that run along the flanks of this genus. This specific epithet refers to its tail(caudus=tail) spot(maculatus=stained or spotted).
